About Me

“Each song is a lifetime, it begins and ends, and there's a journey taken within the songs.”

-Leif Garrett

I am is a music educator focused in music cognition and community program music curriculum development. I have been fortunate to seek degrees in Music Education from Duquesne University, Eastman School of Music, and University of Miami.

Raised in a family of highly skilled musicians and educators, I have developed a passion for music performance within American Vernacular and classical music and interested in designing curriculum to promote musical development.

I have been teaching music for over 20 years with students of all ages and currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Music Education and Orchestra Director at Augusta University in Augusta, GA.

My research interests are in applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Music Education setting, instrumental methods development, community music engagement, and teacher training. I have published articles in state and national music education journals and have presented my research at national and international conferences and symposia.
